Licenser utgör en immateriell anläggningstillgång för företag och immateriella anläggningstillgångar finns bokförda på tillgångssidan i balansräkningen.
Licenser bokförs på bokföringskonto 1040 som är ett huvudkonto för bokföring av licenser.
